MULTI - SPORT ADVENTURE PACKAGE • $1,295.00 plus
tax Welcome to our Multi-Sport Adventure trip. This trail-hopping package includes; river rafting, hiking, sea kayaking, glacier excursions and mountain biking. Cordova has over thirty miles of well maintained hiking trails with varying degrees of difficulty. Your adventures will be narrated by one of several naturalists on each excursion. You will paddle past ice bergs, kayak among sea otters (and possibly orca whales), hike to breathtaking views overlooking Cordova, Prince William Sound and the Copper River Delta. You will experience the incredible wilderness, wildlife and beauty that surrounds Cordova. The real Alaska. On arrival you will be met by one of our staff at the airport where your rental car will be waiting as well. It's a short drive to the Cordova Rose Lodge where you will have a chance to get settled in and decide on a place for dinner. Depending on your arrival time, your first scheduled adventure may not begin until the following day. DAY 1 Good Morning! After a good nights sleep and a great breakfast your guide will pick you up around 9:30 am for an adventurous day of hiking. Bring your hiking boots and rain gear. (Cordova has beautiful sunny days but we are in a coastal rain forest and it does rain a lot). You will have your choice of different trails to hike. This will be an all day adventure with narration from your guide about the area and wildlife. Be sure to bring plenty of film for your camera. It's hard to describe the untouched beauty of the area we live in and we love to share it with our guests. You will have lunch on the trail and dinner at the lodge that evening.
This morning after breakfast we will be headed out to Orca Inlet for a day of sea kayaking. Bring your rain gear and we will supply you with everything else you need. This is a great excursion if you have been kayaking before or if it is your first time. This is an all day trip which will be broken up with some island hiking and lunch on the shore. Your guide is a professional kayaker and naturalist and will give you some history of the area as well as answer questions along the way. Your wildlife sightings may include; orca whales, sea lions, sea otters, eagles, harbor seals, deer, bear and all types of water fowl. Your day will end back at Orca beach with plenty of time to relax before dinner. DAY 3 Good morning after that great Cordova Rose Lodge breakfast your guide will meet you at the lodge for an all day mountain biking, Glacier hopping trip, through the Copper River Delta. This adventure includes 3 Glaciers, including the incredible Child's Glacier and the million dollar bridge. Hike and bike through enchanted rain forests, tundra trails with breathtaking scenery at every turn. DAY 4 Today we will take a short hike down to Sheridan lake at Sheridan glacier, where we will board rafts for a tour around Sheridan lake, paddling through ice bergs and around the lake before taking the adventure filled trip down Sheridan river, where we will experience mild class 2 and class 3 rapids, great fun for the whole family. Possible sightings of Moose, and bear and other wild life while we raft down river to the Copper River Highway. Back on shore we will have a Alaskan snacks of smoked salmon and other treats ready for you.
Today is your day on your
own to explore town, see our fishing fleet, visit our
wonderful museum, local shops and just spend the day as you
wish. Your rental car will be ready when you are. We will
provide additional information on local sights of interest,
and maps. |
