CordovaDAY 1

Welcome to Cordova! Upon arrival at the Cordova airport, you will be greeted by a Cordova Rose Lodge L.L.C. staff member who will provide your transportation to the lodge. Our staff member will have a van waiting outside the airport and will assist you with your luggage and gear. The trip into town is approximately 12 miles and you will head to the lodge.

Cordova is a breathtaking area, nestled in between the Chugach Mountains and Prince William Sound, with the Copper River Delta in her back yard. At the lodge, we will help you unload your luggage and gear and settle in to your rooms. The lodge is a neat place to look around and gives off a true Alaska flavor, with its nautical history and location. The Cordova Rose is also known for their Home Style cooked evening meals. Dinner will be served as you wish. The evening is yours.

DAY 2 - Water Fowling

Day2Good Morning! A hot breakfast will be served at a time designated by your group (you just sign up on our breakfast board the night before). Coffee and muffins are ready one hour prior to breakfast. When the tide permits, your group will take a breathtaking 45-minute boat ride up to Nelson Bay. During this time of the year, several hundred Canadian Geese and Mallards feed here daily. When the large northern flocks are winging south, this is a favorite site for them stay on their layover. We will set up a nice spread of mallard decoys, just as the tide puts water under them. With the wind at our back, in minutes mallards will be in our face. After a few hours of steady production has filled our liberal limits of ducks and a few geese to boot, we will pack up our ducks and decoys, give the dog a well deserved treat and head back to the harbor. Back at the lodge, we have facilities where you may process and freeze the day's hunt, before dinner. The afternoon is now yours to enjoy.

Day3DAY 3 - More Water Fowling

Rise and Shine! Following breakfast we will grab our gear and head out to the boat. We can setup at Nelson Bay again today or, move to another location just up the way where flocks of Barrows and common Goldeneye, Bluebill, Scoter, Harlequin, and old Squaw are beginning to gather in winter flocks. Their plumage has matured and would make fine mounts. We could also try Shipyard Bay, which is across Orca Inlet from the Cordova Rose Lodge, where flocks of Teal and Pintail are still lingering. Either way you can be sure it will be another find day of Water Fowling, Cordova Style. According to the ocean tides, afternoon hunts are sometimes the best however, rest assured, as we will hunt the best areas during the optimum times.

DAY 4 - Fishing on the Eyak River

Following breakfast, you're off for a spectacular day of fishing along the Eyak River. Our driver will provide your transportation for the short ride to the Eyak boat ramp where your boat, gear and guide will be waiting. Once on the river, some of you will fish in waders along the sandbars while others will fish in the boat in a different area. Everyone will get a Day4chance to do both. We will direct you toward the best areas, and assist you however possible to make your day on the river a memorable one. Get ready, the Eyak River produced some of the largest Silvers caught in the 2001 season. The day's trip includes a local guide, safety gear, riverboat. Your catch of the day will be brought back to the lodge where you can process, vacuum bag, and freeze it for the return trip home. Dinner meal at best time. The afternoon is yours.

DAY 5 - Fishing along the Copper River Highway

Good morning! After breakfast your group will start a full day of fishing out the Copper River Highway in the Copper River Delta. You will fish the areas that have been producing the best fish, but will move around as necessary to find fish. The Delta is a maze of small and large streams and beaver ponds that hold the silvers making their way to their spawning area. The Day 5Copper River is 700,000 acres of wet lands with the largest population of beaver in the world - doing what beavers do best, making more ponds for more fish and wild life to live and spawn in. After a day of fish catching, you will head back to the lodge take care of the fish and relax before dinner, the evening is yours.

DAY 6 - Sportsman's Choice

Good Morning! Today you are own you own, after breakfast, you will be able to choose what you would like to do today. This day would be perfect to take a one-hour plus drive out of town in your included transportation for a breathtaking and scenic ride along the Copper River Highway to see the Childs Glacier and The Million Dollar Bridge. You will pass other glaciers and see stunning mountains along the way. Be sure to take your fishing gear and hit some spots while your gone.
